At Ask Wire, our vision is to be the go-to source for real estate intelligence in Europe and our product is the comprehensive and granular property profile of all properties across the Europe. This profile is assembled from a variety of sources, including government databases, European organisations, and high-resolution satellite images. The property profile includes information about the environment, such as earthquake zones, soil quality, flood zones, and local flora.

It also includes details about buildings, such as their type, age, and size, as well as information about town planning zones and uses, such as coastal protection zones, archaeological sites, and residential and industrial areas. Additionally, the property profile includes information about broader issues related to climate change, such as changes in sea levels and the prevalence of droughts.

Directives

We substantially rely on two EU directives to develop Europe’s digital real estate landscape.

EU Open Data Directive

is a piece of legislation that was adopted by the European Union in 2019.

The directive aims to promote the availability and reuse of data generated by public sector bodies, in order to drive innovation, economic growth, and better public services. The directive requires that data generated by public sector bodies be made available for free and on an open license, allowing anyone to access and use the data for any purpose. The directive also sets out rules for the quality and format of the data, as well as guidance on how to make data available in a timely and user-friendly manner.

EU INSPIRE Directive

is a piece of legislation that was adopted by the European Union in 2019.

The directive aims to create a European spatial data infrastructure (SDI) that allows for the sharing and interoperability of spatial data across the EU. This infrastructure is intended to support a wide range of policy areas, including environmental protection, emergency response, and land use planning. The directive establishes a set of common principles, standards, and technical guidelines for the creation and management of spatial data across the EU. It also sets out rules for the sharing and use of spatial data, including the provision of public access to data and the development of common data services. The directive applies to all member states of the European Union, and is part of a wider effort to create a digital single market in the EU.
