Pavlos Loizou
CEOPavlos has hands-on experience in setting up large scale real estate platforms and in repositioning real estate assets, having established and being the head of the real estate platform of Gordian Holdings, having established and being the head of asset management of the real estate management unit (REMU) of Bank of Cyprus, and an equity partner at Resolute Asset Management.
Real Estate Expertise: Decades in the Making
His teams have carried out deed-in-lieu swaps of more than €2.0bn worth of assets, developed sales channels, streamlined the foreclosure processes, industrialized and simplified decision making frameworks, and completed more than €1.3bn of retail, portfolio and structured sales (including setting-up and monetizing the first listed real estate Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) in Cyprus). Pavlos has provided strategic advice on some of the most complex transactions in Greece and Cyprus including the stress test on Cyprus’ banking system and the recapitalisation of Cyprus’ Cooperative institutions.
Pavlos started his career in London as a surveyor for CBRE, before moving to AXA Real Estate Investment Managers to work as a fund analyst. In 2007 Pavlos moved to Bucharest, Romania where he set-up a real estate brokerage firm on behalf of Antonis Loizou & Associates. From 2010 until 2014 he was the Managing Partner of Cyprus-based real estate advisory firm Leaf Research, which completed various high-profile projects for PIMCO, BlackRock, and the ECB. In 2014 Leaf Research was merged with Resolute Asset Management and he became an equity partner. During his time with Resolute he established and grew its Cyprus and Greek offices, he was a member of the company’s management committee, and led advisory mandates in Greece,
Cyprus, Romania, Albania, Serbia and Montenegro. His most notable mandate was establishing and being the head of asset management of the real estate management unit (REMU) of Bank of Cyprus from 2016 to 2018. In 2019 he moved to Gordian Holdings where he was the head of the real estate; he established the real estate management and monetisation platform, set up policies, processes and procedures, recruited and trained the team, and executed a series of notable transactions. In 2020 he set up WiRE FS, looking to leverage technology, data analytics, and his hands-on approach to address some of the key issues that trouble consumers when dealing with real estate transactions.
Pavlos is a graduate of the University of Reading (BSc), the University of Cambridge (MPhil), the ACCA (DipFM), Middlesex University (DipPrFin), NYU Stern (DipCorFin), Harvard Business School (CORe) and Wharton (CertFinTech). He is a member of ETEK (Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber), of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), a registered estate agent in Cyprus and a holder of the CySEC Advanced certificate. He is the immediate past Chairman of RICS Cyprus.
